In this talk we look into the history of the Mummers Play performed in Winterbourn Down South Glos. on Boxing Day, from the revival of the play in 1979 to the present day. Also looking back to the 1890's through the memories of Mrs Penton talking of her father, who as a boy, followed the players around the village. The origins of Mummers Plays and their characters. What is this death and resurrection all about, who is Father Christmas and who is the Green man?
