Feb.

Over the winter its been quite slow, trying to arrange sound bits for the two new films, things have started to move now.

We have been asked to do some filming for a series on BBC Wales, wait for more details.

Working in HD has brought up a few problems with old film clips.

Mar

Back in the water after the winter. Down to Babbacombe to get some clips of Hermit Crabs, for “Tales from Sandy Bottom”.

Apr

Trip West Wales for a few days there was a lot of small dogfish that were quite accessible, and a loads of spider crabs that will fit into the story board. Also found a nice small canyon ½ meter wide 5 meters deep that will fit into the quest.

Wednesdays back down to Babbacombe for the Cuttlefish and some clips for “Tails from Sandy” bottom.

May

Down in Cornwall for a few days after west Wales, on the Manacles and the Halford river produced some good footage, especially on Vase Rock, some beautiful Jewel anemones and Plumose anemone.

Jun

The Wednesday trips to Babbacombe and Brixham continue. Starting to put together the first of the films in “Tales From Sandy Bottom” “The Tale of Julie Jewels Anemone”. The rock pools at the start is a problem.

Jul

Mostly in the Studio, working on scripts etc. End of month had a week at Beer in Devon, manage to get the rock-pool clip for the start of “Julie Jewel Anemone”.

Aug

Spent a week  up in North Wales with Paul & Lucy Kay. Had some good diving, a dive on a small trawler produced some good usable footage, as was a  shore dive off one of the popular beaches, finishing the week with a couple of dives in the Menai Striates.

Sept

Oct

Up again to St Abbs for the Bank Holiday weekend, started at good for the first two days, but then a storm came in and that was the end of that. I did get some good usable clips, in four dives I filmed 18 Lobsters.

Back in the Studio.  Went  across to Langland to film the Clean Beach Campaign that Marine Conservation Society has been Running since 1993. The filming is for a short video that I am doing for MCS to put on their Web-site. Finished the film for Wildlife World, it turned into a 6 min film.

Nov

Still in the  Studio, Put two new  2 T  hard drives on the main  computer  as  back up drives, and up dated  the editing  software too Edius 6.  It has really speeded up the work flow.  The Julie Jewel film  is  three quarters done hoping that we’ll have it finished by the end of the year. Working on the second film in the  series  About a dog-fish  called Donald.

Dec

It’s been  a bit cold,  finished the Julie Jewel film.  Still waiting for the Piano music to be recorded. Should be sometime in the new.  Show the film to a few children over Christmas with some good comments  made. Going over the film again I am rewriting it again to the story a bit more completed  but pleased with the comments.
